Ingredients
- 226 g Sirloin Steak
- 4 tbsp Cornflour
- 0.25 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 5 tbsp Sunflower Oil
- 4 tsp Garlic Puree
- 6 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 4 tbsp Sweet Chilli Sauce
- 1 item Eggs
- 0.25 tsp Salt
- 0.25 tsp Ground White Pepper
- 1 item Red Chilli
- 3 tbsp Tomato Puree
- 4 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
- 1 item Onion
- 2 tsp Ginger Puree
- 4 tbsp Rice Vinegar
- 4 tbsp Caster Sugar
- 200 g Long Grain Rice
Method
- Slice the steak thinly. Slice the onion and chilli finely.
- Beat the egg in a bowl and add the sliced steak and coat well. Then add the cornflour, salt, pepper, and white pepper and mix together.
- Boil some water and cook the rice in a separate saucepan for 15 minutes.
- Heat 3 tbsp of sunflower oil in a large frying pan and once hot, add the coated steak strips.
- Fry for 6 minutes until crispy, turning over half way through to ensure even crispiness.
- Remove the crispy beef and set aside. Add remaining oil to the frying pan and once hot add the sliced onions. Fry for 2 minutes.
- Add the sliced chilli, ginger and garlic, and fry for 1 minute.
- Add the rice vinegar, soy sauce, tomato puree, sugar, tomato ketchup, and sweet chilli sauce to the pan and heat for 2 minutes.
- Add the beef back in and bubble for 2 minutes until warmed through.
- Drain the cooked rice and serve with the crispy chilli beef.
